PD checkup at 6 months old

On 20 April, you had your PD appointment at NUH. As usual, Dr P C Chan was very nice and ask us if we have any queries and etc. At 6 months +, you are 72cm (90percentile) and 8.78kg (75 percentile) with a head circumference of 45cm.

After the checkup, its injection time and you had 2 jabs(6-in-1 and pneumococcal ). When the nurse use the alcohol swab to clean the injection area, you seems to know that injection is coming and paused and started crying when the medication went in. For the second jab, you started fidgeting when the nurse hold on to your thigh to clean the area, our poor boy cried so badly for both jabs. Don't worry about injections, ok? Cause your next checkup will be when you are 1 year old.

We had a bbq at Uncle Edmund's place and due to the injection, you were a bit cranky and the uncles and yiyi around did not get to carry you for long and around 9+,10pm, you only wanted us to carry you. Hopefully, on our next visit to Uncle Edmund's place, you can have a dip in his pool. hehe.

You used to eat watermelon at Grandma's place but you were not too happy that day with the watermelon maybe it's due to your jab or the watermelon is not cold

Updates

 We bought a baby carrier for you so that we can use it for our upcoming Taiwan Trip with you. We tried it out for a few strolls in the park and you like sitting in it or rather, you enjoy "eating" it. Here is the proof.


Nowadays, when your grandpa goes out without you, you will scream at them and want to follow them out. We were at grandparents' place, mummy was bathing and daddy was looking after you,  grandpa wanted to go running so he said byebye to you, left the house and you screamed at him, he turned back and asked what's wrong and your poor daddy has to bring you out for a stroll. Sometimes we really wonder are you smart or just naughty.

 We brought you  for a stroll at Woodlands waterfront last weekend, it was sunny and pretty crowded. You sat in your pram and was more interested with your pram than the surrounding. Hope we can venture out to more parks in the future and when you can walk, you can enjoy yourself at the playgrounds. Mummy will add in the photos from the park later.

You can finally flip from your tummy back to your front and do a 360 degrees flip but your tummy is still struck to the bed and it seems like we have to wait a little bit longer before you start crawling

Sitting up and flipping

BB Ashton can sit up pretty well now, he can sit and play his toys himself. This makes our life easier as we no longer has to hold on to him while he plays with his toys.

Daddy bought a few outfit for him from his trip to the States and below is a Pooh outfit from the disney store. The hat looks a bit hip hop style cause daddy bought size 12-18months. hehe.. But he still looks very cute in it.

These few days, I realised he can flip very well, most babies learnt to flip before sitting but for Ashton, it seems to come in a package of flipping and sitting. I was latching him and halfway through, he flipped and continued latching, I flipped him back and he flipped over again, I had to call my mum to come into the room and she gave him a lecture before he behaved himself.

Learning to sit

Ashton started on semi-solid diet about a month back. So far, he has not rejected any type of food and we have given him apple, pear, mango, multi grain cereal, oat cereal, brown rice cereal, pumpkin, carrot and prune.

When he is lying down, he can hold the small bottle by himself.

Daddy first business trip

You had your first trip to Changi Airport yesterday but you were there not to take a plane, you were there to send Daddy off on his first business trip. We interrupted your sleep and changed you at 6+am and you were not very happy about it but luckily, you fall asleep on our way there.

At night, when it was bed time, you kept turning to the side where Daddy usually sleeps to look for him to play with you but you can't find him there and you turned back and look at me and this process repeated a few times. Mummy off the light and lied to you and said that Daddy is sleeping and you finally decide to sleep.

Baby Ashton must be a nice boy when Daddy is overseas ok? Daddy is bringing alot of toys back for you to play.

On a happier note, you love to play mahjong, maybe to you, they looks like toys so you enjoy sitting on our lap and "play" mahjong together. Here is a video of you playing:

New toys

Every morning after Ashton wakes up, he will turn to his dad and disturb him by scratching his pillows, touching his hands/face, calling him and etc.. to wake his dad up to carry him. While the disturbance is going on, I will call him but he usually ignores me and continue disturbing his dad. Hehe. His dad finds it cute and annoying at the same time. 

We bought Ashton a new toy - an imitation of the bumbo chair with a cart. He looks very happy in it and even happier when we push him around but the handle is abit too low so I will sit down and just move him around the spot.

He still cant flip completely yet and he only flips when he wants milk, I think he's just too lazy to flip but he is starting to learn to sit and enjoy playing his jumperoo. He starting to use his hands to reach out for the toys hanging from his jumperoo and it's interesting to see Ashton's development even in the smallest thing.

Oct's babies Gathering

This is our 2nd Gathering and I am always very happy to meet up with the mummies and adorable babies. During the first gathering, Ashton was sleeping the whole time and yesterday, he was pretty awake and kept smiling at the Pretty Yiyis and Uncles who were playing with him.

Connie Yiyi was very nice to open her house up for us to hold our gathering and we had a great time chatting. Ashton had a great time with the babes too. hehe.. Hopefully when our babies are older, we will have more of such gathering so that they can play together and enjoy each other's company like the mummies.
