Learning to sit

Ashton started on semi-solid diet about a month back. So far, he has not rejected any type of food and we have given him apple, pear, mango, multi grain cereal, oat cereal, brown rice cereal, pumpkin, carrot and prune.
Here is a picture of his first try of pear puree.

When he is lying down, he can hold the small bottle by himself.

He is learning to sit and here is a video of him sitting by himself engross in his show.

Daddy first business trip

You had your first trip to Changi Airport yesterday but you were there not to take a plane, you were there to send Daddy off on his first business trip. We interrupted your sleep and changed you at 6+am and you were not very happy about it but luckily, you fall asleep on our way there.

At night, when it was bed time, you kept turning to the side where Daddy usually sleeps to look for him to play with you but you can't find him there and you turned back and look at me and this process repeated a few times. Mummy off the light and lied to you and said that Daddy is sleeping and you finally decide to sleep.

Baby Ashton must be a nice boy when Daddy is overseas ok? Daddy is bringing alot of toys back for you to play.

On a happier note, you love to play mahjong, maybe to you, they looks like toys so you enjoy sitting on our lap and "play" mahjong together. Here is a video of you playing:

New toys

Every morning after Ashton wakes up, he will turn to his dad and disturb him by scratching his pillows, touching his hands/face, calling him and etc.. to wake his dad up to carry him. While the disturbance is going on, I will call him but he usually ignores me and continue disturbing his dad. Hehe. His dad finds it cute and annoying at the same time.

We bought Ashton a new toy - an imitation of the bumbo chair with a cart. He looks very happy in it and even happier when we push him around but the handle is abit too low so I will sit down and just move him around the spot.

"Studying" his new toy

He still cant flip completely yet and he only flips when he wants milk, I think he's just too lazy to flip but he is starting to learn to sit and enjoy playing his jumperoo. He starting to use his hands to reach out for the toys hanging from his jumperoo and it's interesting to see Ashton's development even in the smallest thing.

Oct's babies Gathering

This is our 2nd Gathering and I am always very happy to meet up with the mummies and adorable babies. During the first gathering, Ashton was sleeping the whole time and yesterday, he was pretty awake and kept smiling at the Pretty Yiyis and Uncles who were playing with him.

Connie Yiyi was very nice to open her house up for us to hold our gathering and we had a great time chatting. Ashton had a great time with the babes too. hehe.. Hopefully when our babies are older, we will have more of such gathering so that they can play together and enjoy each other's company like the mummies.

Baby boy is still sick

We visited his PD last Friday for his assessment and jabs, PD gave us some medications for his phlegm and blocked/runny nose and advised to proceed with his vaccinations. Ashton let out a short cry after the needle was removed from his thigh, he was a really good boy compared to his first jabs where he was crying non-stop.

A week after his medication and he still has phlegm in his throat, hopefully it will clear up real soon.

Botak head!! First haircut on 28/1/2012.

1st Flu

Ashton caught his first flu last Wednesday, it started with mild coughing and escalated to phlegm, blocked n runny nose. He was very cranky and clingy when he was sick. Brought him to the GP on Wednesday and tried the medication but it didn't work and we stopped it after a day.

Ashton keep screaming(I think the amount of screaming for these few days that he's sick=the amount of screaming he did for 4 months) and he was very selective in people carrying him, we have to keep playing with him and we cannot stop, if not, he will scream and the worse thing was, my mum(he adores my mum and "listen" to her) was busy helping my uncle and could not help me with looking after baby boy. Luckily, hb took leave and help me with him, if not, I think I will be totally drained.

On Thursday, Hb and I saw Ashton having blocked nose and wanted to bring him to his PD for consultation, hb called and his PD wasn't on duty. Since Friday was his PD appointment for assessment and vaccination, we waited for one more day before bringing him to visit his PD. PD asked who's the first in the family to caught the flu, hb and I took a look at each other and said no one. haha. PD said he must have caught it outside, he gave us some medication and said to stop the cough syrup that was given by the GP as it was not advisable for baby to take cough syrup. After this episode, hb and I agreed in the future, if baby fall sick, we will not bring baby to GP for consultation anymore and will find a PD clinic near our place for consultation.
