Happy 3 years old!

Happy 3rd Birthday, Ashton!!

We had our first celebration in your school and you were elated. You saw us in your school and knew its your birthday, you went to take the crown from your teacher's desk and place it on your own head. We got mini cupcakes for your friends and your teachers were really nice to help us pack it and distribute it to your friends.

You love Ashley alot but still not willing to share your toys with her, maybe you do not understand the concept of sharing toys yet and we will just have to continue waiting

On one Saturday morning, you and Ashley decided to wake up at 7 in the morning and off we  went to Sentosa-Siloso Beach for some sand and water fun. After we are done, you saw the tram and insisted we take the pram instead of walking back to the carpark, we took a big round around Siloso beach before we had Mcdonalds and make our way home.

We visited River Safari on a Monday and you our timid boy was afraid of the big catfish in the mekong river that was there. A bird flew towards you and you were scared and jumped backwards. The place is pretty well sheltered, no trouble pushing you and Ashley in the pram around the area but its a petty small place with less variety of animals comparing it to the zoo. We shall visit the zoo soon! Much more fun and lots of activities there.

water play at west gate

Mummy has been really busy handling you two kiddos but we still managed to bring the both of you out at least once or twice a week.

When mummy ask you where do you want to go, your usual reply is "Mall" so here we are at a mall and you had fun playing water at West gate after our lunch.

It was a weekday so it was not crowded and you could have a try at all the "toys" at the play area. The water play area is a bit small compared o the big playground next to it but it has a changing room and a blower room (which is used to blow off the water on your body and dry you up a bit) which is new to mummy, first time seeing it.

Progress

You can sing songs very well now (at least to Daddy and Mummy), you can sing alphabet song, hokkien song. When you say eieio, we will have to sing Old Macdonald have a farm, when you say abcd........,we will have to sing the alphabet song.

We received a progress report from your school and you have a lot of areas to improve on but you are perfect to us just the way you are. We do try and read, write and play with you. Glad to hear from your teachers that you enjoyed class although mummy will be happier if you can sit through your lessons instead of walking around.

Arrival of memei Ashley

Your baby sister cum playmate Ashley arrived on 1st of March and gonggong and popo brought you to visit us everyday. Meimei Ashley gave you a present (bought by Daddy and Mummy) your favourite Thomas train set and a very big set. You were very happy with the toy and Daddy fixed it at ths hospital and you played with it every time you visited us. Every time when its time to go back, you will always gladly followed gonggong and popo back and mummy was very pleased with that.

You kept wanted to join Mummy on my bed but Daddy and popo were very worried that you might accidentally touched/hit/kicked my wound but Mummy wanted to hug you so badly and invited you and gave you a big hug and sayang you.

A very proud and happy brother welcoming your baby sister

LNY 2014

Your school has a LNY celebration in school and parents are invited too. Daddy and Mummy went and stood in a corner to observe how are you in school without us around. You were sitting right in front (either the teachers like you a lot or you are very active and need special attention, mummy thinks its the latter), you were watching the brothers and sisters performing on stage and were enjoying the songs. Mummy was heavily pregnant and one of the teachers there noticed it and offered to bring mummy a chair for me to sit but Mummy said its ok and its only for a short while.

After a while, you were getting tired and started to fuss and Mummy "appeared" to tend to you, you were very happy to see me and wants me to carry you but Mummy could only hold your hand and stood next to you.

We went to the usual places for LNY visitations and you had a great time playing at their places.

Pre Nursery at St Joseph Church Kindergarten

You started attending St Hoseph Church Kindergarten this week, Daddy and Mummy accompanied you there for your first day at school and Mummy accompanied you on the second day and we took the school bus back together after that.

The classroom is spacious, very airy and non air-conditioned. There is a English teacher, Chinese teacher and a teacher assistant who will be with you during class. The first two days there were for you to get used to the environment and hence, the teacher only say a story and sing songs with you on both days. Hopefully you will get use to the new environment as soon as possible and enjoy your time there.

A light lunch is provided during class and mummy like that cause it teaches you how to self-feed and not rely too much on us to feed you.

Upcoming graduation at Star Tots

Teacher Esther mentioned that your playgroup is having a small scale graduation ceremony where the kiddos will sing a song and dance for the parents to watch on 15 Nov. You still cannot speak much after attending playgroup but Mummy think that you are just a late bloomer and you will speak properly when you are ready.

Your playgroup always issue a letter indicating what you will learn from week 1 to 5 or week 6 to 10 every term at the beginning of the week and mid term, for eg. phonics for letter V to X, theme: utensils, nature, math: counting to 8, shape of crescent, science concept: wet and dry and etc.. (there's 9-11 items on he letter)

Teacher Esther is very nice to you and always let us know when you misbehave in class, why you cry, why you throw tantrum. Mummy and Daddy is sending you to childcare/pre-nursery next year depending on whether there is a space for you at our nearby childcare centre, if not you will have to take a school bus to a church kindergarten. Hope that you have enjoy your time at the playgroup which Mummy thinks you did cause you can name a few of your classmates when you seldom call Mummy.

Stay healthy, Ashton! Mei mei Nichelle will meet you next year March!
